OTHER RESOURCES

American Indian films may also be found in other locations on campus, including:

The Center for Integrated Studies in the Arts and Humanities (CISAH) Multimedia Collection

Current IAH faculty and TAs have priority to use materials and may reserve materials using the online system. Other affiliated MSU faculty may borrow items (but not reserve them online) through a special arrangement. Materials remain reserved for three days, and unless otherwise arranged, the loan period is three days, beginning the day the item is picked up. Contact Mary Duff-Silverman duffsilv@pilot.msu.edu or see cisah.msu.edu/library.php for more information.

The Instructional Media Center (IMC) Videotape and Film Library

The Film and Video Library contains a wide range of titles that are available for use in regularly scheduled MSU courses both on and off campus at no charge, and for other showings on a fee basis. Faculty and staff may preview IMC-owned films and videotapes prior to program use, at no charge. A resource person is available to assist faculty, staff, and TAs with their film and videotape selection. Films and videotapes from off-campus suppliers may be ordered through the IMC with at least 30 days notice. Costs include the rental fee and shipping and handling. Contact IMC Client Services Division, 126 Instructional Media Center, at (517) 353-3960 (voice) or (517) 353-1817 (fax).

The IMC also welcomes written suggestions for additions to the library, which should include the recording's title, the format you desire, producer/distributor information, your course number, and the number of showings you wish to have. You may mail your suggestions to: Attn: Videotape and Film Library, 126 Instructional Media Center, through campus mail.

The MSU Libraries' Digital and Multimedia Center

This collection features about 10,000 items, including videocassettes, videodiscs, DVDs, and other forms of media (audio, computer software). Many of these may be found in MAGIC, but some are only available through the unit's card catalog. If using MAGIC to search, you may want to use the keyword "video." Materials may be retrieved at the service desk on the fourth floor of the Main Library's west wing. Those videos that may be checked out may only be checked out for seven days (no renewals). For more information, see digital.lib.msu.edu/multimedia/ (or digital.lib.msu.edu/multimedia/filmlist.pdf for feature films), e-mail digital@mail.lib.msu.edu, call (517) 432-4796, fax (517) 432-4795, or contact John Shaw at (517) 432-6123 x287 or shawj@mail.lib.msu.edu with questions.
